Phew! Yesterday was close. I came home from a long day at work, finished up some things, had my Thursday evening glass of wine and went out to meet Glo at a birthday party. Coming home after 10 PM after stuffing myself with sliders and chicken fingers I realized that I hadn't run yet! EEK! I changed as quick as I could and ran a cramping, belching 10 minute mile on the treadmill. Gack. I wonder how cavemen coped with fleeing a lion who suddenly appeared to eat them while their bellies were full, because it must have been hard to run away under those conditions.
I have found a new running partner in the building! - that should make it easier to stay motivated- we did a run in 4 degree weather yesterday (4 degrees with wind chill). Did my first computrainer session at Ride Brooklyn yesterday- they are as tough as I had remembered- got beat at the end by a fit-looking Eric Ragot. Glo did her first one and found out how tough they can be- but I think she is psyched for her next one.
Well no significant problems with keeping up the streak so far, thank god that I have decided that treadmill miles count, as its been a bit chilly.
Day 3 of streak- so far so good. My fitness is basically starting from zero. I basically haven't run since the Westchester tri in Sept. Anyway, the streak is making me feel excited about getting in shape again. I have the advantage of having a gym/treadmill in my building, which is going to make things easier for me when its freezing out.
